Frequently asked questions

What is this?

This is one of the greatest board games of all time, reenvisioned for 2026.

What kind of game is it?

Lords of Vegas is a casino-building strategy game full of luck and conflict. You’ll fight over control of the Strip, expand your casino empire, and ruin your friendships chasing wealth and power.

I don’t gamble… should I play this game?

Yes. In fact, you should buy it without having played it first.

If I like Farms Race, will I like Lords of Vegas?

Absolutely. They’re both immersive games where you talk to your friends and interact instead of zoning out for three hours managing sheep.

What’s different about the Deluxe Edition?

The Deluxe Edition has 3D casinos so you feel like you’re really building on the Strip. It also has a dedicated 2-player board, a 5th player, and fancier artwork and components.

You’re selling poker chips and gambling dice?

Yup. They’re very nice.

Is this backwards compatible with previous expansions like Up?

Yes! The casino names and colors are different, but everything else is the same except for our snarky sense of humor.

Can we expect any new Lords of Vegas expansions or content?

The original game designers have multiple expansions’ worth of content they’re excited to share if this relaunch goes well: Skybridges, new cities, Up! with 3D risers, and more.

I’ve only ever played Monopoly and Risk. Would I like this game?

Lords of Vegas would be a fantastic entry point into modern board gaming. It’s engaging, takes less than two hours, and isn’t designed for 8-year-olds.

I hate learning rules.

That’s why we included so many pictures in the rulebook!

But seriously, learning rules is sadly necessary to play a new game. Lords of Vegas is one of the easier “great games” to learn, and we’ve done our best to make it as easy and enjoyable as possible.

Do you make any other games?

We have two other games out, with more on the way.

Farms Race is a 1 to 2 hour strategy game that feels like a Eurogame with nukes. You still gather resources and build, but winning requires some serious breaches of the Geneva Conventions.

Plunder Blunder is a 20–30 minute game of greed and treachery for 1-7 paranoid pirates and their “friends."

Why would I want to play a game about Vegas?

“I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me.”

― Hunter S. Thompson, author of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

What can Lords of Vegas teach me about the decline of American democracy?

You mean what can the neon-soaked excesses of Vegas teach you about a shallow consumeristic culture gripped by spiritual decline and moral bankruptcy? No idea.
